Miramar Wellington, clubroom venue
Oriental Rongatai was established in 1888 as the Oriental Football Club. It amalgamated with smaller clubs over time and in 1969 a final amalgamation with Rongotai Old Boys saw it become Oriental – Rongotai Football Club (Rongotai means “sound of the sea”), affectionately known as Ories. The club’s proud history and achievements decorate the clubroom walls.
The clubrooms are used by the teams, but may be hired out for private functions. They have seen many of life’s occasions: birthday parties, funerals and wakes, special ceremonies, and are are a good sized space for business and club conferences and workshops.
The clubrooms are close to the airport on the Miramar Peninsula and only 7 kms east of the city centre. They adjoin the Miramar Polo Grounds and there are restaurants and cafes on the street. Weta film studios are close by.
The facility has a fully licensed bar (no BYO) and a kitchen. You are welcome to bring your own catering.
