Hawke’s Bay, Marae venue

Te Aranga Marae is an urban Marae for all people, regardless of tribe, race or religion. It is a place steeped in traditional Maori values and customs but remains welcoming and accepting of all the other cultures that exist in this wonderfully diverse community.

The Wharenui (meeting house) and the Wharekai (dining hall) are two large meeting areas on the marae which frame a large open grassy space. Both seat around 200 people and can be used in conjunction or independently.

The Wharekai has a well equipped industrial kitchen attached, you can bring in suppliers or do your own catering.

Suitable for workshops, retreats, corporate meetings, kapa haka, hui, family gatherings. Traditional accommodation is available in the Wharenui if required.

There is a no alcohol policy on the marae.

Please enquire for details, you will receive a warm welcome.

Hastings District

Hastings District

Hastings, paired with Napier as the twin cities of the region, has not only a vibrant city,  but the very varied surrounding hinterland of Hawke’s Bay. From traditional and modern vineyards to the coast and the hills, Hastings has venues for business and leisure, weddings and parties.

Known for food and wine, Hastings does entertainment well and stages a wide range of events. With it’s settled and glorious weather this is the destination for outdoor events for a larger part of the year.

It only rains for about 2 months – unfortunately no one knows which two months.  But for an outdoor event, Hastings is a very good bet.
