Waipawa Hawke’s Bay, threatre venue
The Gwen Malden Concert Chamber is the smaller of the two venues in the Central Hawke’s Bay Municipal Theatre complex. It has a low stage, seating can be theatre style at 120 or 100 around tables. The tall windows admit natural light and the room opens out onto a patio.
The modern stage has a a full screen, projector and sound installed for presentations. The PA system, mic and lecturn are included in the hire charge.
The CHB Municipal Theatre has a full bar and is licensed until midnight. An industrial catering kitchen is available: ask for our in house options or bring your own caterers.

For a larger stage, see the CHB Municipal Theatre Main Auditorium. The two theatres can be opened into a larger venue space if required.

Central Hawke's Bay
There are two main towns in Central Hawke’s Bay – Waipukurau and Waipawa – with a number of smaller townships including Otane, Takapau, Tikokino, Porangahau and Ongaonga; as well as several beach townships including Kairakau, Pourerere, Aramoana, Blackhead and Te Paerahi.
State Highway 2 runs through the centre of Central Hawke’s Bay leading south to Palmerston North and the Wairarapa and north to Hastings and Napier.
